A cylindrical deflection analyzer, using 'cre'
The type of electrode illustrated here is 'cre' -'cylindrical rectangle'- which gives a rectangle that lies on a cylindrical surface. It is used here to create the plates of a cylindrical deflection analyzer, described in the footnotes of xmpl3d02. The analyzer angle is 127 degrees, and with 'cre' it is possible to reproduce this exactly. The 'clipping' technique used in xmpl3d02 to create the same plates gives the angle only approximately.
